Three cottages, Dryslwyn, Dinefwr and Carreg Cennen.
About Llety Mieri
Llety Mieri offers 3 single storey holiday cottages to rent in Golden Grove near Llandeilo. Named after three castles that can be visited locally, the cottages are part of a property that has a rich history.
The cottage names are derived from Dinefwr Castle, a National Trust property located at the top of Llandeilo town; Carreg Cennen, outside the village of Trap and Dryslwyn, found towards Llanarthne and is a great castle (free of charge) for you to take a picnic and enjoy the views.
At Llety Mieri we have a courtyard surrounding the three cottages, including a paddock and an orchard for you to enjoy. There are picnic tables in the paddock and orchard. The old hay barn has been converted into a games room which is also available for you to use.
Dogs are welcome to run freely in the safety of the smaller paddock. You are also welcome to walk around the orchard but please be mindful of any sheep and keep dogs on a lead if there are animals in the orchard.
Liety Mieri was for many centuries a tenant farm on the Cawdor estate. The current buildings date back to the 18/19th centuries but there was probably a building on the site of the old longhouse in medieval times. Over time Llety Mieri was known as Liety Merry and Liety Mary. The spelling varies with every map it is marked on.
There was a farmhouse at Llety Mieri in 1648 when it was reputed that Oliver Cromwell spent the night in Golden Grove on his way to Pembroke.

Lovely Hosts
Highly recommend the accommodation, facilities and location. A beautiful cottage with lovely hosts, as well as thoughtful touches like milk and Welsh cakes. We were spoilt for choice in the games room with a pool table, darts, table tennis and table football. It’s also very dog friendly. The paddock was great to walk the dog. It’s an easy 10 minute drive into Llandeilo with more dog friendly walks and lovely cafes and restaurants.
Lovely Cottage
Lovely cottage to explore a new area of Wales. Castles, beaches and cities all within an hours drive. Kids absolutely loved the games room and outdoor space. We’ll be back!
Perfectly Located
Perfectly located. In a nice countryside for some peace and quiet but not so isolated that you have to travel ages for things to do. Had a lovely week here and would definitely come again. Thanks again to our lovely hosts for providing everything we needed for a nice relaxing week away 🙂
Lovely Place In A Great Location
Close enough to a town so there isn’t a huge journey to go to the shops but far enough away that there’s lots of peace and quiet. Would definitely be visiting again 🙂
A Wonderful Time At Dinefwr Cottage
The cottage itself is really well presented, clean, light and airy. It is situated in a beautiful part of Welsh countryside, close enough to all main routes for travelling around south Wales. The games room was a great addition to our stay as was the paddock for walking our dog. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. Thank you for an amazing stay (thank you also for the dog treats and Welsh cakes!)
