David’s Organic Farm – Gwarmacwydd

Self Catering

5 Comfortable Stone Cottages for couples or family groups in a village-style setting on our organic farm of over 450 acres set in the vale of the river Tâf.

Gwarmacwydd is a mini country estate of over 450 acres of broad river meadows and rolling fields with views of the Preseli hills. A holiday and retreat destination that is perfect for exploring and hard to leave.

Visitors can get involved with the fun side of farming – collecting the eggs and bottle-feeding lambs in spring.

Organic farms have 50% more plant, insect, and bird life. You can spot your wild neighbours and learn about healthy farming practices on farm walks in the fields and woodland.

Enjoy the freedom to wander wherever you choose. Walk in 40 acres of woodland, along miles of paths beside the fields, or go down to the two miles of riverbank for a spot of fly fishing, with sewin, salmon and trout for the catching, or just to take a leisurely walk.

Once you’ve had your fill of serenity, you can even book a Tractor driving experience and learn to drive a great big John Deere tractor. The hour-long one-to-one sessions get you quickly behind the wheel and learning. You could also book a farm safari tour with the farmer in the Landrover or farm buggy as he checks the stock and answers all of your questions about sustainable organic farming.
Children just enjoy the freedom to explore. They will drag you along to stay safe when in the woods and fields and whilst they discover the river. They may even let you indulge in tea and cakes at one of our many picnic tables while they enjoy their play area, with football goal posts, several swings, slide, play fort, & trampoline.
We believe Gwarmacwydd is a very special place in Carmarthenshire. Comfortable cottages. An idyllic location. Hundreds of acres for you to enjoy, and centrally located, if you wish to explore the Coast, Castles, Gardens and National Park of West Wales.

Gwarmacwydd – a house with a fascinating history – more details on our website.
The farmstead dates back to at least 1785 but was rebuilt and renamed in 1841 by Reverend Richard Bowen Jones after he secured permission from the bishop of St David’s to build a “small” residence. The house he built was larger than any one of his two churches. By all accounts, a well-educated and respected but also formidable man, RBJ was made infamous by his eldest son Richard, who erected a disparaging epitaph in his father’s own church.
